    Dairy Goat Co-operative (DGC) is a leading export company situated in Hamilton. This impressive organisation is a globally recognised manufacturer of value-added products from goat milk.

    Its focus is on the development, production and marketing of premium consumer packaged nutritional powders.

    Purpose of the job :

    An exciting opportunity is available in DGC’s Product Development Team for a Product Development Technologist. It is a 12 months fixed term position covering for parental leave.

    This role will focus on further development of existing products and enhancement projects, as well as supporting the manufacturing facilities in product compositional aspects.

    Day to day responsibilities :

    In this role you will be required to :

  • Provide product composition and formulation support to manufacturing facilities
  • Lead and participate in product development and product enhancement projects including development of product and raw material specifications
  • Conduct regulatory compliance checks local and international regulations
  • Maintain product specifications relating to composition
  • Key skills and experiences :

  • Experience in project management
  • Knowledge of human nutrition, particularly for infants and young children
  • Background knowledge on regulatory requirements for the company’s product range
  • Working knowledge of processing and technologies used to manufacture product range
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Time and project management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
