The purpose of the role

and your unique contribution is to deliver the IAG supply chain strategy.

This includes working as a trusted advisor to senior Claims stakeholders to design and deliver the detailed operating model for an essential component of IAG’s supply chain (e.

g. motor vehicle repairs, home and contents). It will drive beneficial change using market insights, spend analysis and process reengineering to maximise the leverage of IAG's market position.

This role is critical in identifying and supporting digitisation of IAG supply chain processes to unlock strategic value for the organisation

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a small, highly motivated team to deliver the commercial, operational and customer experience outcomes for a key category (e.
  • g. motor vehicle repairs, home and contents) in the Claims supply chain. This accountability includes all relevant supplier-related components of the value chain end-to-end.

  • Develop close relationships with key internal stakeholders - especially in Claims - to collaborate on strategic initiatives to transform our supply chain & unlock significant value to the business.
  • Identify, design and execute on material supply chain transformation opportunities to help us deliver the Claims strategy.
  • Establish ways to improve efficiency, accessibility, innovation and sustainability across supply chain systems and processes to ensure they meet or exceed best practice benchmarks.
  • This includes process digitisation and greater adoption of straight through processing of lower-risk, low-complexity claims.

  • Focus on continuous improvement across the supply chain, utilising innovative approaches to build partnerships or leveraging IAG NZ’s position in market to ensure we are attaining competitive value through our supply chain spend.
  • Drive commercial benefits by leveraging IAG’s buying power and reducing leakage to non-preferred suppliers.

  • Lead oversight & management of strategic suppliers across the lifecycle including supplier selection, contract negotiation, onboarding, management and exit
  • Skills & Experience

  • A highly skilled Supply Chain expert with a track record in transforming supply chains to unlock value. This experience needs to include the critical elements identified in digitisation, straight-through processing, and vertical integration.
  • Can demonstrate managing or delivering a step-change transformation in supply chain performance in a large organisation.
  • Demonstrated by higher customer satisfaction, more efficienct and simpler processes, lower cost to serve etc.

  • Experience in building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared goals.
  • Effective communication skills supporting the leadership of high-performing team, engagement with other senior leaders and executive managers and externally with industry bodies and suppliers.
  • Experience with creating a continuous improvement environment aligned with agile ways of working.
  • Experience at a senior manager level within insurance or related industries that supports a sound understanding of the insurance value chain.
  • Sound commercial acumen and experience in working with supply chain partners
  • Deep understanding of business and financial impacts of operational decision

  • Demonstrated ability in managing complexity, ambiguity and responding to change
  • A curious mindset to challenge age-old problems in a novel way
