Director Strategy Planning and Performance Wellington At T h o te Ture the Ministry of Justice we work together for a fair and safe Aotearoa This is an exciting time to join us as we lead on some of New Zealands enduring and transformational priorities including transforming our criminal justice system honouring our responsibility to Maori addressing family and sexual violence and improving access to justice To deliver on this we have a refreshed organisational strategy and a strong mandate from our Senior Leadership team to deliver on these commitments Key to this is the Ministrys new Strategy Governance and Finance group We have been established to shape the Ministrys overall direction and drive strategic and investment decision making by taking a joined up Ministrywide approach We are now recruiting the following leadership roles reporting to the Deputy Secretary Strategy Governance and Finance to help us deliver on this General Manager Governance and Assurance General Manager Communication Services and Director Strategy Planning and Performance If you are an experienced Strategy Planning and Performance leader we want to hear from you The Director Strategy Planning and Performance is responsible for leading the organisations strategy development strategic planning process alignment and integration of business group plans accountability documents and processes and oversight of the Ministrys performance framework including the development of robust performance measures Currently were one of three agencies piloting a new public sector approach to strategic planning The Director is also a leader who will develop grow and support the team to the best they can be by encouraging a culture of collaboration high performance and inclusion Our Ideal candidate will Have proven experience leading a team to support the ongoing development of the organisational strategy planning and performance and is a strong strategic thinker Have strong relationship and interpersonal skills able to use and build on existing connections to leverage results for service delivery Relates well to everyone understands own impact and manages conflict well Be a leader people want to be inspired by great at inspiring and motivating others and getting the best from individuals and teams Have a good working knowledge of machinery of governance at a strategic level including experience delivering accountability documentation and processes such as statement of intent annual report select committee etc Be and outstanding communicator to be able to tell a powerful story APPLY and complete the application form attaching your CV and cover letter Applications close on 5 00pm 26th January 2020 If you have any questions please contact toni grimshaw justice govt nz Report this job advert
