About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manager Service Advice and Analysis in the Employment Services Branch within the Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery Group.

The Manager Service Advice and Analysis reports to the Manager Business Advisory Services, and will lead a multi-disciplinary team who are responsible for providing a range of analytical and advisory services and capability across Employment Services.

  • The Manager is responsible for leading a team that;
  • Facilitates Branch wide reporting, analysis and insights assessments, including, operational reporting on branch performance and wider more tactical and strategic reporting and analysis
  • Provides functional support for corporate compliance activities such as : complaint investigation, internal audit, contract management, finance, property and assets, health, safety and security, and business continuity planning to the Branch
  • Ensure that the appropriate standards, metrics, and the measurement mechanisms are in place to effectively monitor the performance of the Branch
  • Ensuring the quality, consistency and timeliness of advice and practice, bringing their expert business understanding and perspective to work in partnership with their manager and others.

  • A proven track record of practical experience in leading and operating within an advisory service function.
  • Have knowledge and be technically proficient across a range of advisory and analytical areas to best support and be able to effectively lead a professional team be able to walk the talk.
  • Proven experience in successfully managing change including processes, team culture and service delivery.
  • Sound appreciation of corporate management disciplines and techniques.
  • Understanding of Government decision-making and operating procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining an environment focused on continuous improvement to enhance organisational performance.
  • Experience in operational policy design, practice frameworks and business processes and how these should be applied to effectively undertake verification and vetting processes.
