About the role

We have a new Village Manager opportunity to work in the Aged Care industry in our modern boutique style village in Tauranga, the Avenues.

Opened in 2019, this village also has a small Care Home focused on resident care and boasts a modern, hotel like feel to it.

Residents direct their activities and the direction of their care and our aim is to support and nurture a flourishing environment for them and our onsite team.

Reporting to the Operations Manager who is in the area to offer support and guidance, you'll have responsibility for all aspects of the village, including strategic planning, service delivery, asset and financial management to ensure our village remains vibrant and ready for the future.

These roles are special in many ways within Metlifecare, its your charisma, empathy, leadership, respect for others point of view that enable you to navigate and find solutions to all sorts of problems as they're presented.

About you

The Village Manager wears many hats and therefore must be organised and really care about the residents and the team in the villages.

We are looking for that someone special, who has :

  • Been in an operational management role at a "people" business and has proven ability to quickly build relationships with residents, staff and internal / external customers such as contractors
  • Leadership of teams and culture experience, a natural leader who is a skilled communicator and adept at navigating through the day to day demands of a busy vibrant village
  • Experience in management of business systems and processes, drives for quality improvements
  • Demonstrated customer relations skills
  • Excellent financial acumen, including sales focus and P&L ownership
  • Strategic planning experience to be able to contribute to the big picture, but equally look outside the industry to innovate
  • Risk management to minimize exposure, including H&S and well being management
  • HR management
  • Project involvement and management
