Reproduction Registered Nurse

  • Fixed term position 12 months - possibility of extending to permanent
  • flexibility on FTE between 0.6-0.9
  • Rostered shifts - One weekend a month
  • We have an excellent part-time opportunity for a dedicated Reproduction Nurse to advance their knowledge and skills within a supported and specialised team.

    Fertility PLUS is the Fertility and Reproductive Unit of Women's Health, Auckland District Health Board and is located at the Greenlane Clinical Centre in Auckland, New Zealand.

    Fertility PLUS pioneered IVF in New Zealand, and continues to provide excellent treatment to both public and private patients experiencing infertility.

    Fertility Plus is accredited by the Australasian Reproductive Technologies Accreditation Committee (RTAC) and against NZ Fertility Standards 8181 Fertility Plus, is integrated with the general gynaecology, maternity and medical services at Auckland District Health Board, ensuring that we can support all aspects of fertility treatment and on-

    going care. It offers a range of secondary and tertiary reproductive endocrinology, infertility and sub-fertility services to the women of the Northern Region.

    Approximately 500 IVF / ICSI cycles- including PGD cycles- are completed each year. What to expect from your new role at Fertility Plus.

    As a Reproduction Registered Nurse, you will be on the frontline of treating and consulting with families / whanau who engage with our services.

    You will be responsible for efficiently and empathetically assisting patients through each step of a treatment process. The scope of this position will include a blend of practical nursing skills and educating the patients about the treatment process.

    Your duties will include :

  • Treating patients with infertility
  • Assisting female patients going through menopause
  • Counselling patients and their loved ones on fertility
  • Working with researchers on the latest reproductive technologies
  • Helping patients understand procedures and medical terminology
  • Offering patients non-judgmental emotional support
  • Administering In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatments
  • Teaching patients how to administer IVF treatments
  • Counselling couples and donors throughout the entire process
  • Educating patients about various available treatments and the positives and negatives of each

    Qualifications

    Essential : RGON; RGN; RCpN with or without BN; BHSc (Nursing)
