    About usEducation Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown's second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $20.

    1 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.     Mō tēnei tūranga About this role Reporting to the Group Manager - PMO, the Director Portfolio Management Practices leads the Property Portfolio controls oversight functions which encompass all school property projects and programmes at all stages in the project lifecycle including performance monitoring, reporting and data, finance management, commercial management, risk assurance, change control and governance.

    Your key accountabilities will include :

  • Develop and lead a high performing Portfolio Management Practices team that delivers portfolio management functions and services informed by best practice
  • Improve the ability to monitor and report the progress and performance, of all property projects and programmes through the delivery and closure phases of the investment lifecycle and the identification and implementation of any improvements needed
  • Contribute to the Portfolio Centre of Excellence by enhancing and developing team practices based on good practice and lessons learnt
  • Collaborate with the PMO partners to design, plan and manage these key functions and services
  • Support for improvement in the Ministry's Investor Confidence Rating (ICR)Please note there is further information available in the attached Job Description.Mōhou ake About you
  • You will have relevant professional qualifications in project and programme management and / or experience managing a large construction infrastructure related Portfolio or PMO portfolio management and delivery functions
  • A track record of success and results in a senior management role in a large and complex infrastructure delivery organisation that involved strategic and financial / operational management accountability and a high need for stakeholder engagement
  • Proven success in change leadership and successful implementation and management of multiple and diverse programmes and services.
  • An ability to deliver results / improvements to key systems in complex organisational settings and a thorough understanding and experience in implementing and utilising enterprise scale portfolio project management systems.
