We need your help to bridge the gap between theretirement of a long standing and well-respected Pain Medicine Specialist andthe planned arrival of our permanent replacement, (who has been delayed in partdue to the international Covid situation).
Can you assist us with a commitment to work for approximately 3 months, ideally from October 2020 (with hours that can be negotiable)?
Timaru is often considered to be a well-kept secret bythose in the know, (well that is whatmany of our more recent SMO appointees have told us).
It seems our collegially supportive and well run DHBhas a tendency to fly under the radar, as we simply get on with the job ofproviding our patients the best care with the minimum of fuss, and ourAnaesthetic Dept is no exception.
The Department is also responsible for our Acute andPersistent Pain Services in conjunction with Clinical Nurse Specialists, sothis is where we need your skills to shine in bringing your clinical expertiseto this critical service area.
As such we would ideally be hoping to engage aFellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, FFPMANZCA (or equivalent) to this temporaryrole, or alternatively an Anaesthetist with a strong sub specialityinterest / experience in Pain Medicine.
In this role you will be responsible for conductingoutpatient & inpatient work, including Interdisciplinary Clinics, and itgoes without saying the ability to maintain good working relationships with colleaguesfrom all disciplines is essential.
We may be small in size, but not unlike NZ generally,we have a tendency to punch above our weight in performance measures, plus wehold a solid reputation across our community who values our service.
The sense of community and belonging is reflected in-houseas much as it is a part of the local landscape, and what a landscape we havewith every sporting and outdoor interest wise almost literally on our doorstepproviding genuine ease of access.
Your assistance with maintaining our PainService in a time of transition will be invaluable and equally rewarding, sowhy not get in touch to chat about the possibility of having a temporary changeof scene!
