What this job requires : The world of glass manufacturing is unique. It is widely known that no two bottles are ever the same, and operating the machinery to form glass containers correctly is a true skill a skill that our people have mastered over many years and are keen to share with you.
Our Auckland Plant based in Penrose has several trainee opportunities now for people who are keen to become a Multi-skilled Machine Operator and to develop your career into glass manufacturing.
There is a well-crafted induction program in place that will help you grow knowledge and experience to operate various machinery such as the hot end glassware forming machines and cold end inspection machines in the Auckland plant.
This is a hands on role and once fully qualified, you will be responsible for monitoring production, operating heavy machinery, performing quality checks to ensure our customers receive the highest quality glassware, general housekeeping, assisting with mechanical maintenance, and most importantly contributing to a safe working environment for yourself and the team.
We operate throughout the year (24 / 7, 365 days). After a training period on day shift (Mon-Fri), you’ll be working on a rotating shift pattern comprising day, afternoon and night shifts.
Do you fit the mould? This is what we are looking for : You’ll be fit to perform a range of physical tasks, including standing, walking and lifting all in a safe and considered manner.
You will be a strong communicator and have the ability to work well under pressure. You can work by yourself and use your initiative to get things done, but also enjoy working as part of a team.
You’ll be adaptable to changes in work loads and keen to learn new skills, processes and procedures. Ideally you have some existing experience working within a manufacturing environment and hands on in operating machines.
