We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Assistant Accountant who is ready to take ownership of this role and join our Tauranga based team for 20 hours a week.

About the role :
Based out of our Judea Tauranga Manufacturing Facility, the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the accounting function and be responsible for maintaining the transactional side of the costings, with the support of the finance business partner for ABC calculations and analysis.
In this role you will need to complete the transactional month end process with review and reporting from the finance business partner
In this role your key responsibilities will be :
Maintain accurate standard costs and perform the required cost and variance analysis
Develop and analyse standard product costs using labour and machine rates, as well as activity-based costing principles
Support plant personnel in understanding product costs to support improvements and efficiencies
Preparation of month end journals and process to support Finance BP
Ensure the Tauranga plant is compliant with Company policies, and statutory requirements
Maintain system price book
Maintain / uniform product master data by tidying / obsoleting as required
Maintain register of import case BOM's
Review of existing finance & administration processes to identify improvements as required
Support Finance BP with internal and external audit requirements
We are seeking people who possess the below experience and competencies;
Essential : Degree in Business, Commerce or Finance with a major in accounting
Desirable : Holds a postgraduate qualification as a CA or CPA
4+ years in an assistant accounting role
Advanced excel skills, and demonstrated understanding of financial information systems and databases
Costing experience with a minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong hands-on experience in financial analysis and reporting within a commercial environment
Ability to analyse and interpret large amounts of data to provide insights and support improved business performance.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders
Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with team members across different countries
Numeric agility and proven critical / analytic thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to propose and implement improvements to systems, methods of work and analysis methods
