The Opportunity Deloitte New Zealand's Tax team is widely regarded as experts and leaders in their field. We are looking for an experienced Manager / Associate Director to join our Christchurch based team.

You will be an experienced tax professional wanting to take the next step in their career with a leading brand.As a Manager / Associate Director, you will enjoy and thrive leading others and supporting them to make an impact that matters and setting the direction to deliver exceptional client service.

You will demonstrate sales and practice development, with the opportunity to make a real contribution to the growth of our successful Christchurch team.

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients ranging in size and covering a broad range of corporate tax issues.

You will develop effective business relationships with clients, deliver outstanding tax advice, exceed our client’s expectations and partner with their businesses to grow.

You will demonstrate and develop your capabilities in the following areas :

Applying knowledge of current and pending tax legislations and understanding interaction across global tax functions, specifically in your areas of expertise.

Fact based decision making by using the appropriate research techniques and skills

Improving work efficiency, effectiveness and client service by using common technology tools.

Helping clients mitigate risk, meet compliance obligations and statutory deadlines, and realize business goals

Advising on a wide range of business tax matters from compliance to planning, whilst understanding the implications of expansion, acquisition, divestment and reorganisation in local contexts

Preparing / reviewing income tax provisions for the purpose of reporting in financial statements

Reviewing income tax provisions in accordance with applicable tax accounting standards and confirm all related tax provisions.

Assisting clients in the resolution of tax disputes.

About You

5 years+ work experience in a corporate tax advisory environment.

A professional qualification in law or accounting.

A strong understanding of end to end tax processes & the NZ tax environment.

Experience in Financial Service Industry, or any other corporate tax specialties could be beneficial but not necessary.

Excellent team player and proven leadership and management skills.

Results driven & client oriented.

Ability to demonstrate management flair, drive and identify business development opportunities.

A drive to develop people and grow their career.
