    The opportunity As the NZ Sanctions Manager, you will lead a specialist team and work with key related stakeholders across the business, to ensure the effective and efficient management of Sanctions and Anti-

    Bribery and Corruption risk. You will foster an environment that complies with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, and protects the integrity and reputation of Westpac NZ globally while ensuring the best customer outcome.

    You will also hold the NZ Business Sanction Officer (BSO) role, and provide back up and support to the Australian BSO role.

    Your day to day role will include :

  • Working with business units to clarify and interpret policy documents, along with developing and maintaining procedures and documents to comply with policy and specific sanctions and ABC control processes
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for advice on sanctions and ABC frameworks and policies
  • Working with front line staff in engaging with customers impacted by sanctions, including providing training to relevant business units
  • Supporting and developing processes to ensure monitoring and oversight of compliance obligations
  • Managing and maintaining screening processes to identify areas of high risk
  • To be successful in this role you will have :

  • Knowledge of the financial sector and risk management processes (3+ Years)
  • Experience dealing with Financial Crime (3+ years)
  • Demonstrable experience influencing stakeholders
  • Demonstrable people leadership skills
  • Proven strong skills in complex situation analysis, risk identification and problem solving
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. IT, Law, Commerce or Criminology).
