Occupational Therapy Practice Supervisor- Full time Fixed Term till July 2019 High and Complex Needs and Rehabilitation Service Group
You will be responsible for professional leadership of nine Occupational Therapists working at Buchanan Rehabilitation Centre (BRC), the Assertive Community Outreach Service (ACOS), and Manawanui Maori Mental Health Clinical Cultural Service.
You fulfil a clinical role and have oversight for supporting and co-ordinating Occupational Therapy staff caseloads and clinical / professional supervision.
You will also play an active role in service development and quality improvement initiatives, at both service and profession-
specific levels. BRC is a specialist inpatient service providing recovery focussed rehabilitation for 40 people aged 18-65 years.
The majority of clients are under 30 years and all experience serious mental illness with associated high and complex needs.
This service is committed to facilitating a therapeutic, recovery oriented environment utilising evidence based practice in response to clients clinical and rehabilitation needs.
This is an area of work that requires a highly proactive and enthusiastic person with excellent interpersonal skills to meet the challenges and opportunities of the practice setting.
The role requires sound occupation-centred philosophy, commitment to team work, excellent organisational capability and an ability to demonstrate a high level of time management and organisational skills.
You will work within a multidisciplinary team with shared commitment to recovery values and be well supported by a strong service-
based clinical leadership structure. You would be based in the leafy and pleasant inner suburb of Point Chevalier with easy access to the motorway and plentiful free parking.
You will be registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of NZ (with no condition on scope of practice), hold a current valid APC and have at least seven years relevant experience.
