About the team and role :

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as Product Developer at LexisNexis within our Pacific (AU & NZ) Primary Law team.

This is a Permanent full-time role open to applicants from Sydney (preferred) or Melbourne or Brisbane as well as either Auckland or Wellington (New Zealand) with the possibility of combined home / office-based arrangements for the right candidate.

This role has 3 key areas of focus :

Develop new and enhanced caselaw and legislation content offerings to meet customer needs

Streamline end-to-end processes, realizing synergies across teams and identifying opportunities for automation to deliver more content faster and more efficiently

Act as champion for customers and editorial teams during major migrations and development work

You will be someone who has strong understanding of case law, and legislation, preferably with some content or product development experience.

You don’t need to be a software programmer or developer, but you will have a logical approach to solving problems, strong analytical skills and a passion for technology.

Note, some experience with content migration or product development, understanding of agile and kanban methodologies and tools like Jira, Azure Devops Services (TFS / VSTS) or similar, will be an advantage!

Key Responsibilities include :

Develop new and enhanced primary law content through from producing business cases to ensuring content is delivered to the market within project deadlines.

Maximise currency, quality and capacity to process high volume content by ensuring that internal processes and systems are optimised for speed, quality and volume.

Work with editorial teams to identify and break down roadblocks to efficient and comprehensive content delivery.

Assist with data clean-up projects to support analytics and search optimisation initiatives by development teams.

Assist with testing for technology-driven projects that draw on primary law content.

Identify opportunities for automation in primary law processes and develop and implement plans for rollout of automated processes.

Act as a champion for customers and editorial teams during migrations and development work including assisting with user stories and ensuring comprehensive testing.

To be successful in this role, you will have :

University degree or equivalent (law or technology). Six Sigma Yellow Belt (process improvement) training or equivalent is desirable.

Prior process improvement projects experience would be an advantage.

An understanding of agile development concepts and experience using tools such as Jira would be an advantage.

Ability to take a user-focused approach to technical problems essential.

Ability to break down and map processes and identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies.

Outstanding relationship-building, stakeholder management and communication skills.

Ability to be across multiple projects concurrently and develop a good working knowledge of all products in the portfolio quickly.

Good working knowledge of LexisNexis caselaw and legislation research content and solutions and of the research platform (Lexis Advance) will be an advantage.
