An excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to take on this challenging role in our clients Engineering & Automations team!

About the role

The purpose of this position is to take ownership and work on a complete range of projects within our compressed gases business with a high focus on construction and commissioning of projects.

Based at our site in Penrose, NZ you will be responsible for end to end execution and implementation of large CAPEX projects including both greenfield and brownfield.

Other responsibilities in this role include :

Manage engineering projects through the project life cycle as outlined by internal Project Management Procedures

Evaluate tenders for projects and make recommendations to the Engineering and Project Implementation Manager, ensuring the tender selected best meets the project specification with regard to quality, reliability, timeframe and cost

Inspect works on BOC assets and provide technical details and instructions as required

Prepare budgets and manage financial resources

Ensure all projects are delivered within capital and maintenance allotted budgets

Ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with the Health, Safety and Environment Management System requirements

Contribute to developing the Technical Services Business Plan

Ensure mechanical and electrical engineering standards are adhered to by monitoring, auditing reviewing and advising on site compliance to standards

To be successful you will have :

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

5 years minimum proven experience in construction and commissioning new projects in the production engineering and plant related field

Understanding and knowledge of New Zealand regulations relating to plant construction

Capability to develop basic control systems in a development environment using Siemens TIA Portal or similar

Excellent knowledge of Electrical components such as HV systems and switchgears

Ability to read Electrical schematics
