WaikatoHospital have an opportunity available for an enthusiastic Health CareAssistant to work as part of the interdisciplinary team in our Haematology / Oncology ward.

Ward M5 is a30 bed, inpatient ward at Waikato Hospital, which provides treatment andsupportive care to patients with a cancer diagnosis or blood disorder.

Thereare three inpatient sub-specialities within Ward M5, including haematology,medical oncology and radiation oncology.

We have apart time role vacant for a Health Care Assistant to assist with patient care,and supporting the operation of the ward.

You will be assisting with routinetasks of daily living for patients under the direction of a registered healthprofessional, including attending to personal hygiene, mobilising andpositioning patients, feeding, and attending to communication needs.

  • Experience working with people;
  • Organised and able to manage time effectively;
  • Confident communicator;
  • National Certificate in Health, or equivalent is desirable.
