As a Corrections Officer at our Auckland Region Women's Corrections Facility you will join a highly supportive team that is dedicated to managing the well-being, security and health of the women at our site.
Using effective communication skills, they work together to influence the women, assisting them to make the right choices, take the right actions at the right times and continually support their individual pathways towards living offence-free lives.
A Corrections Officer's contribution counts and has a positive effect on the lives of others and public safety. We have monthly intakes for new Correction Officer employees and we're now recruiting for July, August, September and October.
Our standards are high. You will undergo a comprehensive selection process that will assess you against our core requirements.
All candidates are required to complete a full disclosure criminal history check. Please note - the Criminal History Check is Exempt from The Clean Slate Act.
In other words, the Clean Slate Act does not apply to this position. Please declare all offences (even those outside 7 years) in your application.
Upon gaining an offer of employment you will complete an initial residential 11-weeks training course. Long-term there are many opportunities for promotion and professional development e.
g. qualifications in Offender Management.
The starting salary is $54,793 and increases to $57,432 after you graduate from the initial training.
