The James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor is one of Wellington’s most well-known Hotels. We are part of the Grand Hotels International group with hotels located throughout New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our highly successful Kitchen team to assist in any of the Hotel Kitchens.
This includes the Main Production Kitchen, Sojourn Kitchen, and the Conference & Events Kitchen.
The ideal candidate for this role will :
Have an understanding of kitchen hygiene
Have knowledge of Health & Safety and chemical handling
Have the ability to work both independently and part of a team
Have a positive can do attitude with excellent communication skills
Previous experience is beneficial for this role however it is not essential as full training will be provided
The position will include, but is not limited to :
Washing and cleaning of pots, utensils, and dishes
Cleaning of benches, floors, and other kitchen surfaces / areas
Assisting with food preparation, i.e., washing, peeling, and chopping of items
Ensuring kitchen equipment is maintained to a good standard with minimum breakage

Candidates must have flexibility to work any day of the week, including weekends and be able to work a combination of shifts commencing predominantly at 7.
00am, 1.30pm and 4.00pm. Shifts will vary based on a 7 day rotating roster.
