  • The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provides national leadership to New Zealand's distributed emergency management system.

    NEMA's primary focus is on the performance and capability of the emergency management system as a whole, across all hazards and all risks and the 4 Rs of risk reduction, readiness, response and recovery.

    Due to rapid growth at NEMA we have a newly created position for an Advisor or Senior Advisor Recruitment to join our team on a fixed term basis.

    As a vital team player you will provide support and guidance to our hiring managers on the end to end recruitment life cycle.

    The scope of the role is varied, and we require someone who brings a background in recruitment to help with day to day process and hiring needs along with looking at the bigger picture to scope, plan and implement a range of continuous improvement and recruitment initiatives.

    The key focus of this role is to be able to manage multiple vacancies concurrently while ensuring that the processes that support the hiring managers is robust, efficient and organised.

    Working closely with senior management you will devise how to best attract talent while driving effective and efficient recruitment outcomes and providing a high level of candidate care.

    To be successful in this role you will :

  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the application of recruitment, selection and appointment processes and HR polices (gained either in house or at an agency).
  • Be experienced in analysing emerging issues, resourcing data and trends to help managers with their workforce planning.
  • Bring a high level of organisational skills, including the ability to plan and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality and exercise judgement and discretion.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as being able to contribute positively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build relationships at all levels.
  • Have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing recruitment needs and assessment processes, to enable managers to meet their capability requirements,
  • Be proactive in seeking feedback from key stakeholders to ensure continual improvements within the recruitment and onboarding processes.
