  • Te tūranga The roleThis is a unique opportunity to join a crucial team, who act as a think tank' and provide technical and thought leadership advice to support our Financial Markets department.

    Bringing your experience in Financial Markets, you'll be responsible for supporting the work around our thinking on the future of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's balance sheet, influence policy decisions, and be committed to the development of our processes and frameworks.

    This role will ensure that our balance sheet and frameworks are designed to meet our policy goals and are fit for purpose.

    You will be responsible for working on organisation wide projects and providing high-quality advice that is grounded in a strong technical understanding of liquidity and reserves management, portfolio design, and asset allocation.

  • Experience or interest working in a financial markets based role (in either a research, risk, or portfolio management capacity) is advantageous
  • Proven experience in providing technical and thought leadership in your specialist area
  • A good understanding of a central bank and its role and function in a financial system
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to build meaningful internal and external relationships
