About the role and who we are looking for :
Are you passionate about hospitality but don't want to work the long hospitality hours? Our ESS team are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Chef to work at NZDF - Devonport.
This is a Permanent Full Time role and hours of work are 40 hours per week.
You will be responsible for :
You will be responsible for the preparing, cooking and serving of delicious meals as well as ensuring the quality of every dish we serve! You will need to be able to cook within budget, assist with ordering and menu development as well as ensuring the health and wellbeing of our customers through allergen and nutrition management.
In this position you will be both based in the café and catering for functions.
Ideal skills and experience you will have :
If you're our ideal candidate you will be hard working, reliable, with at least 2 years' experience working in a commercial kitchen catering for many people and well experienced with short order cooking.
You will hold the relevant qualifications including food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167). In addition, you will have the ability to lead and mentor a team as well as the ability to work independently and confidently.
But, most importantly, you will demonstrate a passion for great food , customer service and quality.
