About this role
We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic Midwives to join our Community team!
The Community Midwifery Service embraces a midwife-led / woman focused model of care enabling continuity of carer during the antenatal and postnatal period.
This involves home visiting and community based clinics.
The hours of work are between Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4.30 pm with some negotiated flexibility in how you arrange your working hours.
We are looking at some occasional 10 hour day working so that you can have an extra day off each fortnight. You will be required to work one day during a weekend on a rostered basis approximately once in every 5-6 weeks.
Penals are available for weekend working.
We will consider all FTE requests if you are a well organised and experienced midwife and you can demonstrated your proficiency in using MCIS!
Our Community Midwives provide midwifery care for women with complex needs ranging from social challenges to medical conditions affecting their wellbeing in pregnancy.
Community Midwives are supported by our Specialist Diabetes and Maternal Fetal Medicine Team colleagues as well as by a Social Worker and Community Health Workers.
As the focus of community midwifery work is antenatal and postnatal care, you will have the opportunity to be supported in providing occasional intra-partum care in order to meet the requirement of the midwifery scope of practice
If you are keen to be part of community midwifery with a difference, then apply now!
