About the role

We have a new opportunity has arisenat Waste Management. Reporting to the Head of Legal, the Legal ComplianceCorporate Specialist will work closely with the Head of Legal and businessstakeholders at all levels to create processes and practices to improve theday-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal Team.

You will facilitatechange, and cost controls.

Your key responsibilities willinclude :

  • Help to craft and implement an operationalstrategy for the legal function / team
  • Automate and optimise workflows
  • Reporting on key operational and substantivemetrics for the Legal Team that will better inform decision making, includingmatter and work product analyses
  • Maximising resources by tracking and managingexternal and internal spend to deliver the best value
  • Helping to drive strategic and operationalinitiatives with on-time and on-budget results
  • Identifying and implementing Legal Team tools tostreamline new or existing practices, as well as assisting in the management,design, rollout and training for new systems
  • Developing and enforcing processes and policiesto manage outside counsel usage and spend
  • Assist with Legal incident investigations todetermine root causes, contributing factors and corrective actions
  • Assist the Head of Legal to schedule and delivercontracts and legal compliance training to appropriate Waste Management employees
  • The ideal candidate will have :

  • A Tertiary Qualification (Degree or above) inany of Law, Business, Sciences, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Planning orEnvironment or similar including similar industry experience
  • ICAM and Internal Auditor qualification(desirable)
  • Detailed knowledge of records management anddocument control systems, as well as detailed, working knowledge of informationand document management concepts, software and systems
  • Experience in developing, implementing, andusing legal department technology solutions (desirable)
  • Proven system development and administrationexperience
  • Prior experience developing playbooks andpolicies (desirable)
  • As an excellent communicator, youhave a track record of collaborating with cross-functional groups (e.g.,Finance, Operations, Sales, IT) to set objectives and produce meaningful results.

    You are able to independently move projects forward by gaining support neededfrom others while working in a cross-functional role.

    Your excellent time andproject management skills alongside high attention to detail will help you tosucceed in this role.
