    The Opportunity :

    We are looking for an experienced health and safety professional to join our specialist Human Resources (HR) and Health & Safety (H&S) Consulting team.

    We are a small but growing team, helping a range of clients with continual improvement of H&S management, across various industries and locations nationwide.

    In this role you will be responsible for providing exceptional HR and H&S services to existing and new clients in the South Island.

    You will work closely with others in the team providing these services including our Senior Consultant, who is a well-known industry expert in this field.

    This role will offer you autonomy, diversity and the chance to further develop your HR and H&S knowledge and profile. For the successful candidate, we offer an attractive remuneration and benefits package and are open to considering flexible working arrangements.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Developing and providing tailored HR documentation (including position descriptions, individual employment agreements, policies and procedures, competency frameworks etc.).
  • Developing and providing individual / team development processes (including psychometric testing, training workshops, performance development frameworks and processes).
  • Developing and providing organisational development and change management initiatives (including engagement surveys, structural advice, job scoping, internal communications and outplacement services).
  • Providing recruitment services for senior vacancies.
  • Driving and undertaking regular client care and business development activities such as internal and external networking, meetings and presentations.
  • Providing technical and mentoring support to less experienced team members.
  • Assisting with managing regular team processes including meetings, billing and professional development.
  • Developing and assisting with implementing tailored and industry focused H&S management systems.
  • Reviewing existing H&S management systems.
  • Providing tailored training and workshops on specific H&S topics.
  • Advising and assisting with H&S incidents / accidents.
  • Undertaking regular client care and business development activities such as internal and external networking, meetings and presentations.
  • Providing technical support to less experienced team members.
  • Participating in regular team processes including meetings, billing and professional development.
  • We are looking for candidates who have :

  • At least three years prior experience in a similar position.
  • A relevant human resources qualification or similar.
  • A relevant health and safety qualification.
  • An in-depth knowledge of current employment and H&S legislation and best practice management in NZ and the ability to practically apply this across a range of industries.
  • Sound report and policy writing skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
