Te Papa Atawhai is the government agency charged with conserving New Zealand's natural and historic heritage. Our vision means ensuring that New Zealanders gain a wide range of benefits from healthy functioning ecosystems, recreation opportunities, and through living our history.
Reporting to the Director-General, the purpose of this role is to significantly improve Te Papa Atawhai's biodiversity systems to assign and measure impact of resources and investments to those areas that deliver maximum return both on and off public conservation land towards DOC's 2025 Stretch Goals.
You will be charged with taking the New Zealand Biodiversity Strategy and creating a clear operational pathway that can delivery this over the next four years.
A key part of this will be leading a compelling communications strategy to engage the hearts and minds of all New Zealanders to address the climate and biodiversity crisis.
The person we are seeking will be a skilled and experienced senior executive with a track record in a similarly complex organisation.
