class collections and the permanent and volunteer staff who tell the Museum's stories.An opportunity exists for a highly motivated Visitor and Market Researcher to join the Museum's Visitor and Market Research team for a fixed-

term full-time position ending 30 June 2020.As a vital member of the VMR team, this role works to gain, share and embed insight about the Museum's audience, to understand achievement of audience centred objectives and ensure the delivery of exceptional visitor experiences.

  • The role is truly inter-disciplinary. It works closely with many departments including Exhibitions, Learning and Public Programming, Digital and Marketing to help remove barriers to engagement and assist in the delivery of Future Museum;
  • the organisations' long-term plan for transformational change.To be successful in this role, you will have : EssentialA well-

  • rounded Researcher / Evaluator with 3+ years professional experience - 3+ years' managing projects end-to-end, both ad-hoc and continuous : Developing and managing complex projects;
  • including staff, budgets and timelines.Utilising a range of research or evaluation methodologies; both qualitative and quantitative.

    Transforming complex data into meaningful insights.Data analysts with 3+ years professional experience and looking to switch to research are also encouraged to apply.

    A tertiary qualification in a related field such as marketing, social science research, sociology, psychology, museums or cultural heritage.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.A good working knowledge of SPSS and statistical analysis techniques.

    Experience scripting questionnaires and managing surveys using online research tools (i.e. Survey Monkey, Survey Gizmo etc).

    Highly developed and adaptable communication and influencing skills.Experience and comfort advocating for unpopular insights and recommendations.

    An understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and how they relate to the Museum and a research and evaluation environment Highly DesirableExperience rationalising, measuring and communicating digital analytics.
