Auckland Council's Operations & Optimisation department was created to champion outstanding customer service, develop partnerships, manage operational performance, drive continuous improvement and enhance quality within the Regulatory Services Directorate.

The size and scope of this role is rare, and if you’re someone who loves a challenge and working on a large-scale piece of work across a complex organisation, this could be what you’re looking for.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Change Manager will lead, develop, adapt, and drive the overall change management function for the Regulatory Services transformation journey.

Were currently undergoing transformation and as such will need a savvy Change Manager to take charge in embedding lean-agile practices to increase quality, efficiency and maturity of the change across Regulatory Services

It is a highly visible role where you will have the opportunity to strategically :

  • Coach and provide change advisory services to the Regulatory Services Lead Team and Directorate in support of our transformation journey
  • Promote, coach and drive the required change management strategies and activities to align with departmental and organisational culture
  • Own, improve and build robust frameworks to manage the change maturity reviews and associated activities for the portfolio in support of agreed targets
  • Continuously lead the adoption of lean-agile change practices for programmes, projects and epics across Regulatory Services
  • Manage and / or conduct change impact and readiness assessments to identify key changes and gaps which impact the transformation and BAU landscape
  • Develop, execute, and monitor the effectiveness of change management activities to support the transformational journey
  • Partner with both internal and external stakeholders to implement change including benefits, corporate initiatives, and agile / adaptable business improvement practices

    He kōrero mōu : About you

    This is a grunty and substantial piece of work, and we’ll be looking for the experience in change management to match it.

    You’ll have proven experience in affecting successful behaviour and culture change on a large scale and across large numbers of employees and managers, and developing and implementing strategic and tactical change management plans.

    Designing and delivering organisational change communications will pose no issue. Proactively engaging key stakeholders in a manner that their contributions are noted, valued and acted upon and then proven experience in managing subsequent cultural change is core to this role.

    Changes would be anything from transitions to new ways of working with technology and teams through to co-design and embedding a culture that positively supports the changes.
