That's where you come in
We are looking for a very experienced Planner to take a lead role within our tight-knit and experienced Planning team as the Technical Director - Planning.
We see this as a national role, leading, mentoring and working with colleagues across all our multi-disciplinary offices.
The role is preferably based in either our Auckland or Hamilton offices, but potentially could be based in one of our other regional offices.
You'll have a proven and extensive history of working with policy planning, private plan changes, strategic planning, resource consents, designations and feasibility studies.
You'll have a minimum of 15 years of New Zealand-based Planning experience and be a member of the New Zealand Planning Institute.
You will need to be very familiar with relevant planning legislation and have a strong working knowledge of regional and district planning in New Zealand.
You're personable and outgoing, have strong professional networks, and enjoy working in a friendly, collaborative environment full of solutions-focused colleagues.
You have outstanding verbal & written communication and you're self-motivated, as well as effective at motivating others.
What you'll be doing
As the Technical Director - Planning, you'll be working at a national level to help influence and shape our strategic direction.
You'll be a key leader and mentor within the broader national Urban Planning and Design team of approximately 40 people.
You'll also provide and manage the provision of technical planning advice, opinion, and reports across the country to ensure projects are successful.
You'll be expected to keep a high national profile in the industry, and to stay up to date with industry changes or amendments, as well as relay these changes across the business.
