Summary

The National Sales Manager will be responsible for total business management for Advanced Wound Management (AWM) in New Zealand and achieve sales budget, market share and gross profit within expense parameters in line with company objectives.

This role will report to the Senior Business Unit Director, AWM (ANZ).

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and implement effective annual sales strategies for the region
  • Ensure AWM marketing programs are implemented and executed fully
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development to ensure Sales Executives’ competencies in territory management and product knowledge are continuously upgraded and improved
  • Liaise with Senior Business Unit Director on progress and / or problems being experienced with nominated accounts
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly reviews with all Sales Executives
  • Set sales goals and objectives for territory and team to support the region and company’s visions and principles
  • Analyse regional performance and develop strategies to maximise potential
  • Provide team support and training on how to improve performance to ensure their development plans are implemented
  • Develop new business opportunities with existing and potential customers
  • Contact key customers (wholesalers, key influencers) to ensure operational and strategic goals are satisfied
  • Lead and participate at all scheduled meetings (Region / National team)
  • Education

  • Tertiary qualifications in a Science and / or Business related disciplines
  • Experience

  • Proven sales management experience in the healthcare industry in NZ within advanced wound and / or related medical devices industry
  • Proven success record of leadership within current sales team
  • A proven track record in sales performance with a minimum of 5 years in healthcare sales
  • Technical Knowledge & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of the selling process and salesforce management skills
  • Solid understanding of healthcare industry with working knowledge of wound care and / or related area
  • Good understanding of the NZ public and private healthcare system
  • Acute understanding of NZ procurement process
  • Ability to manage, coach, train and motivate employees to achieve company objectives
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships with internal and external customers
  • Ability to interpret financial and clinical data
  • Strong planning, execution and decision making skills
  • Good influencing, negotiating and conflict resolution skills
