Why we need you.

Paymark require an experienced Environment and Release Specialist to manage the development and testing environments. You will work closely with the testing and development teams and report directly to the QA Test Lead within the QA Function.

You will deliver environment availability, stability and control the release management process to ensure development and testing teams have controlled environments.

We need to make sure that quality is key to our products and people.

You’ll have experience in the full SDLC and will have exceptional co-ordination experience with a good knowledge of complex transactional and automation environments.

You will create, implement and be responsible for the Core QA release strategy reporting in to the Paymark QA Test Lead and to ensure high quality outcomes for Paymark.

You’ll help oversee the delivery of quality process improvement and our drive for improved efficiency, metrics and reporting.

You’ll play a key role in the delivery of our projects to ensure collaboration, communication, adherence to process and quality.

You’ll be a driver in our company’s various approaches to improve quality assurance.

What you are going to be doing.

Key Objectives

  • Create and own the development and testing environments strategy and the various artefacts associated with them
  • Co-ordinate development and testing environments and tools
  • Schedule access to the environments and comm’s links for internal projects, work requests and external vendors
  • Keep the QA Test Lead informed on environment stability and availability for projects and work requests
  • Report on environment status and author reports to the QA Lead and other stakeholders on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Responsibilities of the job include :

  • The Environment, Release and Configuration Resource will have 3 areas of responsibility;
  • Test Team Development, QA and Staging environment (s) are using the correct versions, users have the correct level of access and scheduling for the availability of all projects.
  • This will also include administration and operation of the environments

  • Release management across these environments
  • Configuration of each environment
  • Create automation scripts for code deployment to the QA Environment (where required).
  • The role will be responsible for all development, testing and management tools within the environments and will be the point of contact for Paymark’s Vendors for those environments.

  • You’ll foster a good working relationship with the Core Dev and QA Leads, and where required will oversee vendors release and internal project / WR releases. They will be;
  • Ownership for all environments
  • Responsible for ownership of the release and configuration management process
  • Ownership for the automation testing environment and the test management tools
  • Responsible for establishing Entry and Exit Criteria for environment and test deliverables
  • Reporting on environment status
  • Governance process for environments, release management and configuration management
  • Implementing the Core QA strategy on environment management and release process
  • Development and Test Scheduling
  • Environment planning
  • Placement and monitoring of link bookings
  • Re-planning where required
  • Working with cross functional testing resources.
  • What we need you to be good at.

  • Testing environment administration and operation
  • Development of environment and release processes and procedures
  • Good knowledge of complex environments and release management processes, tools, concepts and methodologies
  • To have excellent technical skills, such as;
  • Environment Planning and Co-ordination

  • Development and debugging using the WebFAST test SDK
  • Defect analysis
  • Ability to pick up new technologies at a rapid pace in an ever changing environment
  • MS SQL Server (backup / restore, compress)
  • Expert level of query / script writing
  • SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio)
  • SSRS (SQL Server Reporting services)
  • SSDT (SQL Server Data Tools)
  • PostgreSQL
  • Microsoft Windows Server administration including (Resource monitor, Windows events, Services, robocopy etc)
  • Linux server administration and operation
  • Experience in Splunk, confluence, Jira and Visio
  • Hexadecimal conversion
  • Automated release management tools
  • Experience with 3rd party financial transaction simulators.

    You will be reporting directly to the QA Test lead. The QA Team is hardworking and passionate about what they do. They are conversant in our payments switch and its associated applications, and are dedicated to the success of Paymarks quality deliveries.

    This role will have exposure across the business and you can expect to work with people from every business unit and of every level in the business.

    Do you qualify?

    To apply for this role, you’ll need a minimum of 2 years in a Specialist role from a release management or configuration management background.

    It would be ideal if you also have one of the following :

  • ISTQi - Foundation
  • Experience with automation environments and automated test tools
  • Hands on experience with test environment operation and administration.
