About the role :

We are seeking a Casual dental assistant to join the mobile dental staff in the Whitianga area and will be part of the Eastern dental Pod.

The position involves working on a mobile dental unit in the Whitianga area and surrounding schools (Te Rerenga, Tairua, Whenuakite etc).

Travel to Hamilton for trainings and service needs is sometimes required.

Responsibilities of the role :

  • Dental assistants support and assist dental therapists in all aspects of care and clinic administration.
  • Provide dental assistance with dental care to pre-school and school age children.
  • Perform routine activities to improve oral health for patients under the delegation and direction of a registered health professional.
  • Required skills & experience :

  • A full current driver’s licence.
  • The ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Good communication and leadership competency.
  • Computer skills.
  • Conscientious and reliable.
  • The position would ideally suit someone who has had dental assistant experience or has a work history in office administration, customer service or health care.
