Our Auckland office is brimming with over 1000 people from a broad range of engineering and other professional disciplines.

  • This Project Engineer / Project Manager role is client-facing with the responsibility for a variety of challenging projects planning, assembling, and managing resources to deliver your projects on time and on budget;
  • whilst achieving operational excellence in project outcomes.

    You will be joining a diverse and talented team of 75 passionate engineers, designers, project managers and quantity surveyors who work across a range of sectors, where innovation and delivering the best for our clients is at the heart of every decision we make.

    Each day will be varied and provide new opportunities and challenges, overall you can expect to be involved with :

  • Project management of a variety of works from office and site-based locations, setting clear expectations on cost, quality, and schedule
  • Working across multiple industries, understanding client’s opportunities and challenges, and translating them into work briefs that provide the right engineering solution
  • Getting to know our clients to gain an understanding of our client’s business
  • Creating and maintaining good working relationships with clients
  • Preparation of bid proposal documentation for review and approval before client submission
  • Scoping packages of work and delivering strongly, working alongside local and remote teams
  • Development and assessment of tender packages
  • Planning and management of site execution work
  • Contract formation and management
  • Identifying opportunities for Beca to expand service offerings across multiple clients and markets
  • Developing relationships across the Beca business and building project teams to deliver best for client outcomes.
  • The types of work we deliver for our clients range from Business Analysis (from strategic planning to environmental studies), Technical Analysis (from concept and detail designs to hygiene and HAZOP reviews), Procurement Strategies (such as expediting contracts), Project Implementation (contract administration, and risk management) and 'Start-up Operate Evaluate' services (from commissioning procedures to performance improvement and asset management) :

    About you

    We are looking for a project engineer / manager who is personable, pragmatic, loves to learn, share knowledge and can bring a fresh perspective.

    You will ideally have an engineering background with passion and good problem-solving skills, you thrive when building collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients that contribute to repeat work.

    You have grown your skills within a similar consulting, contracting or client environment, where you have built your technical design and project management experience through undertaking projects for and on industrial sites.

    You will have an enquiring mind and be able to problem-solve and think laterally. While not essential, experience in food and beverage would be advantageous.
