ABOUTTHE ROLE

The Mental Health Service, Te AraMaioha, at Hauora Tairāwhiti is looking to employee a consultant psychiatrist whois keen to manage a diverse clinical workload.

The current vacancies areswithin the adult team however there is flexibility in the service toaccommodate psychiatrists from other subspecialties.

The Mental Health team provides anumber of services including Te Kuwatawata which has been designed in responseto the inequity for Maori within the Tairawhiti region and gives a uniqueopportunity for potential employees to work within this service.

Other servicesare within the Tairāwhiti Region are. Inpatient, Community, Infant, Child &Adolescent and Mental Health Services for Older People areas

The team of health professionals inTe Ara Maioha are committed to removing inequity for Maori accessing servicesand improving outcomes for all in Te Tairāwhiti community.

The successful applicant will havethe ability to engage meaningfully in service development work and will have a desirefor quality improvement.

There is support for research and professionaldevelopment. This role will suit a psychiatrist who has a strong commitment toreducing inequity, who enjoys diversity of work experiences, and has a desireto make a difference within our community.

The psychiatrists work collegiallyand share peer review activities.

Please note that the Psychiatrists participatein an on call roster, which is dependent on team numbers and worked with greatflexibility.

SKILLSAND EXPERIENCE

Registered or eligible for vocationalregistration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in Psychiatry

Fellowship of the RANZCP is desirable

Experience across any sector inMental Health and Addictions

Have a current New Zealand driver'slicense
