When you join our high performing Community Services team you will help make the city a great place!

Our team manages Council's community grants which we use as a tool to partner with organisations who help us deliver on a range of outcomes.

We provide advice to community, arts and environmental organisations and work across Council.

We are on the hunt for someone with an eye for detail; the role includes supporting the team with data capture and analysis of spend alongside other parts of our grants processes from initial enquiry to payment and reporting.

This is a permanent, part-time role for 20 hours per week and is based at our Boulcott Street base. The Community Services team works in a flexible and agile way to build community and neighbourhood resilience, supporting people and the development of connected, vibrant and participatory communities, we also ensure that Wellington is a safe, tolerant and healthy city with a strong social infrastructure supporting people and provide support for Council wide place based approaches to local community planning.

Our ideal candidate will ideally have two to three years' relevant experience in the grant-making and funding sector, be comfortable with digital processes and have some knowledge and experience of the community sector.

You will be a confident communicator, have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all stakeholders both internally and externally and be an enthusiastic team player.

You will also be comfortable with a flexible work approach and have an ability to adapt to changing project priorities and new initiatives.

Due to the nature of the role some work will be required outside of normal office hours so flexibility in working hours is also necessary.

This will be prorated to the part time hours.
