About the position

This is a fixed term contract for a Tax Manager to provide additional resource for maternity cover and while T&G undergoes a tax transformation process.

The Tax Manager will contribute as a valued member of the T&G tax function and will have a focus on NZ & overseas tax compliance, tax accounting and reporting requirements, tax advice to the global group as well as managing tax related projects as required. Responsibilities :


  • Completion of the NZ income tax returns
  • Assistance with the Australian tax return filings
  • Support the global tax compliance programme, including liaison with external tax advisors, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of lodgement.
  • Tax accounting

  • Preparation of relevant tax calculations and notes for the financial statements and for Parent reporting at half year and year end
  • Advisory & Other

  • Provide support for transfer pricing Master File / Local File documentation requirements
  • Provide support for tax enquiries and audits in New Zealand and other jurisdictions as required
  • Provide proactive tax advice and support to the business in NZ and overseas
  • Contribute to tax related projects and broader finance transformation projects as and when required
  • What we are looking for

    Our ideal candidate will be a team player with a proactive attitude. You will be able to demonstrate the following :

  • 5 plus years' experience in corporate taxation, preferably with large corporate entities or professional services
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Law and CA qualified
  • A good understanding and practical knowledge of tax accounting and NZ tax including indirect taxes
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Understanding and practical knowledge of financial accounting, IFRS, systems application and interpretation of financial reports
  • Strong attention to detail and an enquiring analytical approach to problem solving
  • Experience in tax accounting / tax return software such as TaxLab, CCH and good knowledge of Excel and Word. Ideally with some experience with SAP and Power BI
