General Medicine (Fixed Term 6 and 8 months) Division of Medicine and Health of Older People Waitemata District Health Board, Auckland, New Zealand
We are looking for doctors who are finishing or have just finished training to take on these 6-8 months fixed term roles which are designed to give SMO-level experience in a supportive environment and may be adjusted to suit individual needs.
The Medical Tutor Specialists will work closely alongside our General Medicine teams and will be involved with General Medicine inpatient services, Assessment and Diagnostics Unit (ADU) and outpatient clinics.
Our General Medicine service is the largest in NZ and offers wide experience with supportive specialities and good trainees.
We have a diverse population with a variety of interesting, stimulating and challenging medical presentations serving a population of 630,000 people across two hospitals.
To be successful in this role you will deliver excellent clinical services with the support of junior medical staff, management and other health professionals in a collegial and collaborative environment.
You will be highly motivated to support resident medical officers preparing in their physician training. Experience in teaching and a keen interest in the future development of our training programmes are essential.
To apply for the role you will be registered (or registerable) with the Medical Council of New Zealand and either hold a FRACP (or equivalent) or be in the last 6-12 months of completing your general medicine training.
