Pharmacy Technicians - Nelson Hospital

    The role of a Pharmacy Technician involvesdispensing, ward supply, stock control, procurement and assisting in theday-to-day running of the dispensary and pharmacy services.

    You will also havethe opportunity to work at the top of scope of practice; including assistingwith medicines reconciliation and discharge planning in clinical areas, andother tasks that relate directly to patient safety and care.

    We have arange of permanent positions available ranging from 0.6 FTE (64 hours perfortnight) to 1 FTE (full-time, 80 hours per fortnight).

    Our working days areMonday to Friday between the hours of 7.30AM and 5.00PM. Your hours can benegotiated within this. There may be the opportunity for weekend shifts in thefuture.

    If you are excited about a career in pharmacy wewant to hear from you. You will ideally have a New Zealand National Certificatein Pharmacy (Technician) or be willing to start training.

    It will be importantthat you manage your time effectively, are a competent communicator, anaccurate record keeper and pay close attention to detail.

    You will have a goodlevel of computer competency and the ability to quickly adapt to new systemsand software. Of equally importance is your ability to fit well into a teamenvironment and contribute to making the workplace enjoyable andproductive.

    We are always appreciative of new ideas and smarter ways ofworking, so a willingness to share ideas is also a must.

    For the health andsafety of staff and patients all NMH staff are required to be vaccinated inaccordance with the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021including boosters.
