The Manager Legal Services leads and manages a professional, specialist legal services team, and provides strategic leadership of Maritime NZ?
s legal function. The diversity of legal work within the team is such that it suits a leader who is highly competent in planning and resource allocation.
The role is based in our Wellington office, with staff in our legal services team based in Wellington and Auckland.
In this highly respected role, you will build, manage and motivate a dedicated and cohesive team, fostering a collaborative and positive team culture aligned with Maritime NZ?
s organizational values. You will support the Chief Legal Counsel in oversight and review or organisational legal risk management, and you will contribute to and influence the development of wider Maritime NZ strategies which contribute to the Government?
s overall maritime transport strategy.
You will join a team of managers within the Regulatory Systems Design group who are tasked with providing clear and dynamic leadership for the group and contributing to Maritime New Zealand?
s leadership capabilities.
To be successful in this role you will hold a Bachelor of Laws and admission as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
Your significant experience as a senior manager leading a team of professional staff and an in-house legal function will be required, as will your ability to build and maintain effective relationships, both within Maritime NZ and externally.
