He Waka Tapu Ltd Me mahi tahi t tou mo te oranga o te wh nau Working together for the wellbeing of family He Waka Tapu Ltd is a kaupapa M ori Mental Health and Social Service nonprofit organisation situated on the Eastside of Christchurch We are driven by our values and appoint highly capable people who share and support these values as well as being a good fit for our organisation For more info on He Waka Tapu please visit This is an opportunity to work in a progressive midsized business along with 80 dynamic kaimahi To be successful in this role you will ideally have at least three to five years experience in a similar role and be prepared to cover other administrative duties as required The Role You will be responsible for the smooth running of financial systems across the whole of He Waka Tapu including supporting reviewing and development of financial systems along with the planning implementation of training as required across the administration team This position leads the financial practices reporting and all financial supports required for HWT and will work alongside BDO accountancy firm Responsibilities and duties may include Processing of debtor and creditor invoices into Xero accounting software Preparation and managing of the organisation and service delivery budgets Provide financial reports to contract providers Oversight of financial requirements for reporting to the CEO and Board reports and advise of any potential risks trends to CEO and Management on all financial matters Liaising and working alongside BDO accountants services Oversee resource property utilisation and manage organisational assets as required Participating in meetings and project team activities The ideal candidate will Be an experienced accounting technician or accounts administrator with strong financial acumen 35 years Have excellent communication and relationship management skills Be proficient with Xero Accounting System MS Office suite and have good allround administration skills Have sound problemsolving and analytical skills with a strong eye for detail Be selfmotivated extremely organised and able to multitask Have a highly professional approach to their work with good attendance and presentation Be a good team fit Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality Demonstration of the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Alignment to He Waka Tapu values and core principles and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi Current full drivers licence Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa If you are interested in this position please email Carol Heeney at carol hewakatapu org nz with any queries and your CV with a cover letter Kia ora
