We are one of the most creative and influential urban design teams in the city and one of the largest public sector design teams in the world.
We are home to both the Auckland Design Manual (ADM) and the City Centre Masterplan (CCMP) and are recognised internationally for our ability to shape the urban design conversation in Auckland and overseas.
The ADO is responsible for leading the design conversation as well as shaping, advocating and delivering 'design quality' for Auckland.
This creative, multi-disciplinary urban design team is accountable for design review, design policy, design and delivery of placed-

You will be accountable for contributing to the provision of specialist urban design advice into the resource consent process.
You will ensure the promotion of best practice urban design practices and contribute to a sustainable urban form. This role will involve working with a diverse range of people as well as reviewing a wide range of high profile and complex projects.
Harnessing your design review skills you will be negotiating quality design outcomes for Auckland. This is a collaborative role where you will provide specialist urban design expertise and leadership across Council and the community in conjunction with the rest of the ADO in order to shape, promote and improve the quality of the region's built environment.
He kōrero mōu : About youYou are someone with significant experience in the urban design field, including the development and implementation of 'best practice'.
You have an undergraduate and / or postgraduate qualification in planning, architecture or urban design. You are also a very strong communicator and relationship builder with well-
developed political acumen and the ability to engage with a wide range of people in a busy and complex environment. Strong written communication skills and the ability to graphically present ideas are a key component to this role.
Prior experience in the provision of specialist design review advice in the Resource Management Act (RMA) regulatory framework is highly advantageous.
