A8 is a unique ward accommodating both the AcuteStroke Unit and Vascular Surgery specialties. We are a passionate and dynamic team who support adiverse patient group, taking a holistic approach toproviding a high standard of combined medical and surgical nursing management.
Our team is diverse with a myriad ofbackgrounds and expertise which brings a richness of knowledge and skill topatient care.
We are looking for energetic nurses whoare eager to strengthen and develop their skills in these specialty areas. You will be well supported by the seniornursing team which comprises of CNM, nurse educator, stroke CNS and vascularCNS.
Currently there are 24 inpatient ward beds, but weare expanding We are looking for nurses to join the A8 team as we prepare to open4 beds in the progressive care unit (PCU).
The PCU will provide intermediatelevel nursing for both stroke and vascular patients as they step down from ICUor to support higher acuity needs at a 1 : 2 nursing ratio.
Wehave a wide range of complex patient presentations which includes acute andelective, medical and surgical, local and wider South Island.
