Day to Day :

  • Work with the Agile Team to analyse business processes, procedures and user requirements in order to establish system requirements.
  • Focus on identifying and preventing impact to customers, optimising performance and resilience and restoring service during critical incidents
  • You will be expected to test infrastructure on cloud platforms by building reusable automated and manual test scripts to validate the infrastructure across all environments
  • Deliver reliable and automated platforms for the customer teams across data, apps and web technology
  • Assist in building deployment pipelines from scratch
  • Automate as much as possible, enabling safe and effective deployment and CI / CD
  • Help deliver fault-tolerant, high-availability Infrastructure as Code with Azure
  • Ensuring critical system security through use of best in class cloud security solutions.
  • Contribute to the wider team culture, championing, owning and delivering superb Cloud system experiences across BNZ

    Essential :

  • A curiosity to learn!
  • Basic Platform Engineering / SRE / DevOps experience in agile environments
  • Awareness of AWS Cloud Formation or Terraform
  • Troubleshooting and expedient issue resolution
  • Experience developing and implementing platform solutions preferably on AWS
  • Awareness of with CI / CD pipelines, Agile delivery, Git and Jenkins
  • Basic Linux / Windows scripting and admin
  • Awareness of platform security concerns (e.g. threat prevention controls) and best practices
  • Basic experience in development / scripting using SQL, PowerShell, JSON, Python, Bash etc.
  • Java development experience (ideal), to create integration / API solutions
  • Experience or a willingness to learn Configuration as Code using Chef / Puppet / Ansible
  • Desirable :

  • Working with Agile methodology and practices
  • Relevant Financial Service Industry experience advantageous
  • General experience and knowledge of the common operating systems
  • Awareness of disaster recovery and Testing strategies
