Operations Manager Upper North Island About the CompanyIMG is a privately owned New Zealand heavy engineering company with over 20 years experience in their sector They specialise in delivering high quality maintenance manufacturing and project services to a wide variety of clients throughout the North Island in centres such as Kinleith Kawarau Rotorua Takanini East Tamaki and Whangarei Their evergrowing client base reflects their delivery integrity and longterm customer focus They have an exciting future as they embark on a journey to positively challenge the market and further invest in their people relationships operations and infrastructure About the RoleReporting to the Chief Operations Officer COO this is a newly created position following strong and ongoing growth in the organisation The three main purposes of this role are to support the COO in The effective management of the Region increasing efficiencies and operational excellence through implementation of key systems and processes and development of a high performance culture Development of external and internal relationships increasing credibility and ensuring service that consistently exceeds expectations Leading the business through to its next phase of growth increasing profitability and positioning The successful applicant will work very closely with their counterpart Operations ManagerSouthern You will take the lead in managing key projects championing Health and Safety and business improvement initiatives acting as leader manager and mentor throughout different areas of the organisation About YouThe person we seek will have sound experience in senior operational management in a large NZ manufacturing or construction environment In addition to your strong problemsolving skills and the ability to clearly express complex ideas you ll have exceptional communication skills and be able to motivate teams to achieve common goals in a constructive and positive manner You will be a down to earth person with high emotional intelligence and empathy able to relate to staff at every level but especially on the workshop floor Key responsibilities Lead the Northern Branch Teams Be accountable for the financial success of the Auckland and Northern Branches Ensure that Branch Managers utilise labour and material resources to agreed budgets and delivery times and understand work priorities Drive IMG s Safety First Culture lead health and safety initiatives and activity in your region Build long term strategic relationships with current and potential key customers Support the estimating process and provide high level support to scope jobs and cost out for quotes Be committed to getting it right first time for customers Uphold the company values in all we do and say Qualifications and Experience Preferred A businessrelated degree or technical degree would be an advantage but is not essential Front line management or other relevant leadership development qualifications Project engineering or planning experience What We Offer A potentially career defining role A competitive salary package A genuinely warm and welcoming team Endless opportunity to develop your skillset both onthejob and through targeted learning To be eligible for this position you must currently reside in NZ and have a legal right to work permanently in this country Please click on the Apply button below to submit your application and CV
