We are looking for a Senior Acoustics specialist to work on a major project and grow the acoustics business in Auckland.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your acoustics career from within an established, highly experienced, dynamic, and motivated team.

You will be part of a highly successful environmental engineering and management practice, and you will have opportunities for stimulating work and excellent multidisciplinary outcomes.

About the Role :

  • Our current workload is focused on environmental acoustics. It is technically challenging and varied.
  • We work across a range of sectors, including housing, transportation, defence, waste, and infrastructure
  • The opportunity to work alongside experienced, market leading professionals, on some of New Zealand's most complex and challenging projects, including our geotech, civils, planning and environmental teams
  • To be successful in the position you will be a highly motivated self-starter and able to show initiative
  • You will be required to manage your own projects and to develop strong working relationships with clients across diverse sectors
  • Ability to mentor less experienced members of the acoustics team
  • Training to help you develop your technical, project management and business development skills.
  • About you :

  • You will have the opportunity to work autonomously in and out the office so your confidence, organisational skills and ability to multitask will be fully utilised
  • Given the consultancy nature of our business, you will also need to demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills
  • As we specialise in environmental noise and vibration, an understanding of the Resource Management Act will be valuable
  • Experience in computational modelling using noise software or similar packages and noise and vibration monitoring
  • A desire to improve your technical skills while helping clients solve complex problems
  • A relevant engineering or science degree : PhD, MSc, BSc, BE, or honours
  • Member of the Acoustical Society of New Zealand or similar overseas professional institute
  • At least 8 years plus experience in a similar role in consulting, industrial, or regulatory settings.
