A brand new outdoor education programme is coming to Auckland this Summer. Custom designed by an experienced EOTC Manager to be delivered to primary school aged Kiwi kids.
This role will be fixed term school holidays only with training beforehand but other employment options in wider programmes may be available during the term.
With an already established team, we are looking to grow that with another 3 or 4 amazing team members and would consider candidates for either an entry level assistant role or supervisory positions! We are on the hunt for experienced outdoor facilitators, educational superstars, natural history / science buffs and rookies keen to break into the industry.
The qualities listed below are only an indication of criteria. As staff of our programme are strong communicators we expect every candidate to be able to sell themselves well but also authentically.
Show us what's special about you!What is essential for us?You need to be great with kids, non negotiable. We will decline the most knowledgeable adventure guide in the country if they cannot relate that to a young audience.
You need first aid experience (and ideally outdoor first aid for candidates desiring supervisor roles).You need to speak fluent English and be able to communicate well with kids.
A dedication to health and safety.A medium-high level of fitness.The ability to pass a NZ Police Vet.Experience working with children.
What is non-essential but would totally tip the scales in your favour?Obviously experience in the outdoors be that employment, voluntary or recreational.
Instructing, coaching, faciliation or education experience.Te Reo.Knowledge of NZ Natural History and / or Te Ao Māori.A full driver's license, ideally with class 2 and / or a P endorsement.
