Work with this leading Engineering company in the Wellington CBD as a Solution Designer for business change.
Being the Solution Designer, you will be Technical with a hands-on focus to take the Design Lead role on various Critical Services projects.
In this role you will be :
Providing solution options for the delivery of projects within the client's architecture framework, standards and guidelines, then develop the preferred solution through to high level and detailed designs and provide technical leadership and direction throughout the project life-cycle.
This includes options analysis, design, development / build and life-cycle management as well as a focus on continuous improvement of those services and related processes, tools, technology and architecture.
Responsible for the technical quality of the project. Ensures required quality assurance and technical governance processes are followed consistently.
Oversees technical governance for the project and raises any governance questions, issues, decisions or architecture changes with the technical governance group.
To be successful for this role you will need to have the following experience :
Experience leading the design and delivery of life-cycle upgrade and business functional change projects for applications based on the opensource ecosystem.
Knowledge of Linux and virtualisation technologies.
Knowledge of opensource and specifically commercial open source technologies.
Knowledge of Java, C#.Net and / or C++ as well as source code management practices and tools.
Experience integrating applications within a highly secure critical environment, including integrating with legacy and new technologies.
Experience delivering application change and green fields applications within an Enterprise environment.
10 years or more of experience in application solution design and delivery.
Experience with DevOps toolchains to automate build, package, configuration, maintenance, monitoring and deployment activities.
Knowledge of automation technologies including Ansible.
Experience with designing systems to use monitoring, logging and configuration management tools (e.g. Nagios, Elastic Search, Grafana).
Experience with the use of the Atlassian Tool suite (Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo, Jira) to manage project delivery.
