Medical Officer / Senior Medical Officer GP ServicesPukekohe Hospital

  • Primary Care Medical Officer position with a difference
  • Rehabilitation Care for Older Persons with some Palliative Care patients in a community hospital setting.
  • Part time Monday to Friday, 0.5 0.8 FTE depending on the experience and interests of the appointee
  • This position provides general medical services to Pukekohe Hospital’s 18bed Older Persons Rehabilitation and 2 bed Palliative Care Ward.

    Pukekohe Hospital is a rural Counties Manukau Health hospital. Our 20 bedinpatient Ward (18 beds Rehabilitation with a focus on return-

    to-home patient reablementand 2 beds Palliative Care) cares for sub-acute, locally domiciled, generalmedical and orthopaedic patients referred from the major tertiary hospital,Middlemore.

    Patients are also referreddirectly from the local community, and from the nurse-led Rapid Response team.

    We are now looking for a Medical Practitionerwith a passion for Rehabilitation to join our small, close knit team!

    The ward has been well looked after for the past twelveyears by two job sharing GPs. You can expect supported from a visitinggeriatrician twice a week and an experienced nursing team.

    Routine independent clinical audits returnvery positive reviews around the quality of care provided to patients.

    Qualifications / Experience :

  • Qualified Medical Officer / Senior Medical Officer
  • Completed a structured training programme and previous experience in general medical or in Primary Care Medicine
  • Current APC
