The Building and Roads Head of Department is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for both staff and guests while using our roads and facilities.
The right person will be passionate, energetic, and not afraid to roll up their sleeves and jump in wherever.
About the role
To be successful you need to be confident working in a team of highly motivated individuals who are dedicated to meeting and exceeding our guests' expectations.
This is a key guest service role as this is often the first point of contact our guests have with mountain staff.
Ensure our access road and car parks are safe and fully operational for our guests
Lead a crew of approximately 12 to provide road gritting, car parking, chain fitting and road safety services throughout the winter operating season
Prepared to work flexible hours around changing weather conditions
Year-round you will manage daily, weekly, monthly and annual operational and compliance checking of all of our building facilities
Manage the operational plans for our building facilities and plant which meets health & safety, and emergency management requirements
Develop and manage a repairs and maintenance program to maintain our building assets
Proven experience in effectively leading a team
Exceptional driving skills with considerable experience driving on snow and ice
A mechanical aptitude with practical experience of vehicle maintenance and machinery operation
Exceptional internal and external guest service
Self-starter and team player
Innovative and a positive motivator
A trade qualification and contracting experience in a similar industry such as excavation transport & / or agriculture would be a real advantage
