The New Zealand Tourism Research Institute based at the Auckland University of Technology brings together experts from around the world to deliver innovative research solutions for the tourism industry and those who depend on it.

Our research enables businesses, communities and governments to develop profitable and sustainable industry outcomes. The Institute is seeking to appoint a Research Officer to project manage and contribute more broadly to the research activities and outputs of the Institute.

The position is full-time fixed term (18 months).We seek a candidate who has : Demonstrated high level relationship management and communication skills including strong written and oral communication skills in English.

Strong project management and planning skills including the ability to administrate, coordinate and report on research projects using processes and systems in place for project and contract management.

The ability to travel internationally and nationally if required for project work.Strong information gathering skills; a diverse thinker who has an inquiring mind and can identify, collate and validate credible information to inform research teams.

The ability to develop new projects and seek out funding opportunities with knowledge of the New Zealand and global research and funding environment.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to produce accurate work with attention to detail.Knowledge of, and passion for, the tourism industry in New Zealand and globally.

Demonstrated capacity to be innovative, flexible and work across several research projects.Ability to work within a multi-

cultural team and workplace setting.An interest in developing research outcomes for both industry / applied and academic publications.

A PhD or post-graduate level qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable but is not essential if relevant past work experience is strong.

You must be eligible to work in New Zealand to be considered for this position.
