  • The Role :

    The Security Engineer will be a key role in the implementation of new security solutions. This role also participates in the creation and maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, designs and procedures as well as conducting vulnerability audits and assessments.

    This role has a strong focus on hands-on and practical real-world experience with security principles, concepts, technology, threat & incident response and monitoring.

    You will be doing :

  • Work with 3rd party vendors to ensure projects deliver an acceptable level of quality and to remediate any project warranty issues.
  • Liaise and work with the project, architectural and operational teams to meet security standards and requirements.
  • Monitor all in-place security solutions for efficient and appropriate operations, always looking for opportunities to improve and automate processes.
  • Participate in security investigations, incidents and events.

  • Actively participate in security monitoring, and root cause identification.
  • Refine and update security policies and rules in the appropriate security tools.
  • Identify areas where automation and / or additional tools can enable more efficient and effective responses.
  • Technical design and delivery of security projects, including technical analysis of the current state, technical system config, and technical migration plans.
  • Review program designs, as-builts etc. to determine compliance with security policies & standards.
  • Participate in security & risks assessments and audits, including working with 3rd Party Vendors.
  • Participate in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
  • Requirements :

  • College diploma or university degree in Computer Science and / or 3+ years equivalent work experience.
  • Hands-on knowledge of security technology including - firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to conduct research into Cybersecurity issues and products as required.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed - Keen attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and cope with business complexity.
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
